The topic that my partner (Teh Hui Yen) and I are discussing is E-learning. The report on "Challenges of E-Learning in Malaysia" was written using OpenOffice Writer. which is a free software for creating a document similar to Microsoft Office which is costly for student to afford.
It is kind of sad to say that Malaysia is facing lots of challenges in enhancing e-learning process. Getting the fund itself is the main problem as Malaysia is a developing country, many fields needed allocation for development. Hence, it is hard for our country to upgrade our e-learning programs and facilities in a short period of time. Collaboration from various institutions and various organisation is needed to make it a more successful platform for enhancing learning environment in Malaysia. It would be a great booster for our country especially in remote areas if they are equip with the needed basic facilities and knowledge where transportation will not be an obstacles for students to have learning experience.
For me, to be honest, I am struggling to follow up what is needed to be completed for this subject as I have never been exposed to e-learning until this short semester. This short semester is quite a busy semester, we have 6 hours per week for this subject and a total of 30 hours of classes per week as we need to replace the credit hours for our long semester. Thus, time management is really important to divide between study time and our leisure time (resting, entertainment, sports, etc.) accordingly. There are still lots to explore as IT never stop changing and improving. I will need to catch up with the trend and make use of it.
